The Shoreline Hotel is a landmark property located on the eastern shores of the Derwent River that has commanding views across the water to Hobart and Mount Wellington beyond.
The hotel is a leading venue in the Hobart region providing its patrons a full complement of facilities including large family Bistro, Café, Gaming Room, Sports Bar, Function room, Drive Thru Bottle Shop and Motel style accommodation.
It has been some 15 years since the hotel last undertook renovations and as a result has become a little dated in its appearance and proposition. The redevelopment therefore provides management the opportunity to refresh the venue and at the same time review the hotel’s food, beverage and entertainment offers to ensure they remain an industry benchmark for years to come.

OUR ROLE
The initial step was to attend site and be briefed by management on the history of the hotel, the nature and extent of past renovations and get an understanding of recent trade levels and venue behaviour. That initial meeting also provided the opportunity to be informed about the demographic make-up of the local catchment and develop an awareness of opportunities to attract new markets to the hotel.
Pre–Design services to include the preparation of a Preliminary Brief (PB) document detailing project specifications in relation to business components, their size, adjacency and location; the PB document also served to confirm an understanding of the design and operational objectives of the project; advice as to selection of an architect/interior designer; briefing the architect and interior designer as to project objectives; ongoing general design and layout advice; collaboration in relation to the production of the concept presentation document; provision of bar designs and associated documentation sets; attendance at project meetings and collaboration with management in terms of operational and commercial objectives.
